Introduction
Welcome to Aria Player. Aria Player is provided by Your company Name ("we", "us" or "our"). These Terms of Service, including the End User License Agreement below (the "Terms"), describe the conditions for using the Aria Player Android application, its updates and related features (the "App"). The Android package name is com.ariaplayer.app.
The App provides local music and video playback, a local image gallery, media library scanning, playlists, favorites, playback history, lyrics and supported file and system sound actions. Features depend on your device, Android version, permissions and media formats. The current version does not provide account registration, a paid subscription, a music store or a cloud media library.
Please read these Terms and the Privacy Policy carefully. This version is a review draft based on App version 0.1.41 and is not yet effective. Viewing this draft does not create a binding agreement or provide consent to data processing. The effective date of the completed Terms will be stated at the top of this page.
Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy explains the information processed on your device, online lyric requests, enabled Firebase Analytics and visits to our legal website. Please refer to it for the information involved, the purposes of processing and your choices and rights.
Acceptance of these Terms is not a substitute for any separate consent or permission required by law. Android media permission, for example, authorizes the access described by the permission prompt; it does not grant us ownership of your files.
License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms and applicable law, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use the App on compatible devices for its intended purposes. Rights not granted under these Terms remain with the relevant rights holders.
This license covers the App, not the music, videos, images, lyrics or other material you access through it. You must obtain any rights or permissions required to use that material. The App does not grant a public performance, redistribution or other commercial content license.
Separate open-source licenses apply to the components identified in the App's Open-source licenses page. Those licenses govern their respective components and take precedence over conflicting restrictions in these Terms. Nothing here restricts rights to copy, modify, reverse engineer, replace, relink or redistribute software where those rights are granted by an applicable license or by law.
Use of Materials and Usage Restrictions
You retain the rights you hold in media and other content on your device. Allowing the App to read, display or play that content does not transfer ownership to us or grant us a general license to publish, sell or commercially distribute your library.
You are responsible for ensuring that the content and actions you select are permitted by applicable law and the relevant rights holders. In particular, you must not:
- use the App to access, copy, share or distribute content without the required authorization;
- use the App to infringe copyright, privacy or other rights, or unlawfully bypass access restrictions;
- introduce malicious files, attack a service or interfere with the security or operation of the App or a third-party system; or
- remove required proprietary notices or falsely present yourself as the App's operator, subject always to rights granted by open-source licenses and applicable law.
Lyrics, artwork and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners' rights. Their appearance in the App does not grant a right to reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit them.
User Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity or appropriate parental or guardian authorization required to use the App under the law that applies to you. Parents and guardians should consider the content available on the device and the permissions granted to the App.
The intended release audience and any specific minimum age are your intended audience and minimum user age. These details remain to be confirmed for the markets in which the App will be distributed. This draft does not represent that age verification or a parental consent system has been implemented.
Device Permissions and File Actions
You control the permissions and file selections offered by Android. Declining, limiting or revoking access may prevent some media from being found, displayed or played. Please review Android prompts before authorizing an action.
- Deleting files. A delete action may remove the actual media file from device storage, rather than only removing an entry from the App.
- Sharing files. A share action makes the selected content available to the destination you choose. The receiving application or service applies its own terms and privacy practices.
- System sounds. Setting a ringtone, alarm or notification sound may write a sound file and change a system setting after the required access is granted.
- App data and backups. Clearing App storage or uninstalling may remove App-managed playlists, preferences, playback history and imported lyrics. Original media, files stored elsewhere and device backups may remain.
Keep an independent backup of files and information you wish to preserve. This advice does not exclude any responsibility or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP AND RELATED FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". Except for commitments expressly made and guarantees that apply by law, we do not warrant that playback will be uninterrupted, that every file or device will be compatible, or that lyrics and metadata will always be accurate or available.
Playback and media discovery can be affected by damaged or unsupported files, codecs, storage access, operating-system restrictions and device behavior. Online features also depend on connectivity and independent providers.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any statutory guarantee, warranty, service standard or consumer remedy that applies and cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss resulting from use of, or inability to use, the App, including loss attributable to unauthorized content, independent third-party services or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Any limitation applies only to the extent it is lawful and enforceable in your circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Your mandatory consumer and privacy rights remain available. These Terms do not impose a fixed monetary liability cap or require you to waive those rights.
Third-Party Services and Content
The App can automatically request online lyrics from LRCLIB or NetEase Cloud Music when suitable local, imported, embedded or cached lyrics are unavailable. Depending on the request, the provider receives song title, artist, duration or its catalog identifier, together with ordinary network information. The audio file itself is not sent by lyric matching. The Privacy Policy explains this behavior in more detail.
Online lyrics and linked websites are operated by independent providers. Their content, access rules and privacy practices are governed by their own terms. A lyric result may not match a particular recording, and a provider may change or stop its service. Identifying a provider does not imply a partnership, endorsement or license from that provider.
The App also integrates Firebase Analytics, with collection depending on the installed build, and displays legal pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. These services are described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for charges imposed by your mobile or internet provider. Local media playback can work offline; new online lyric requests, website access and analytics transmission require a connection.
End User Responsibilities
When using the App, you are responsible for the content you select, the permissions you grant and the actions you authorize. Use the App lawfully, respect the rights of others and do not knowingly compromise the security of devices or services.
Responsibility for a breach or misuse will be determined under applicable law. These Terms do not impose an unlimited obligation to indemnify us for every claim or require you to assume liability for our own unlawful conduct.
Notification of Copyright Infringement
If you believe that material provided by us through the App or our website infringes your copyright, contact your email address. Please identify the protected work, the material complained of and where it appears, explain the basis of your claim, and provide contact details and evidence that you are the rights holder or authorized representative.
The App primarily plays files selected from your device; we do not host a user-uploaded music catalog or have remote access to remove files from users' devices. If the issue concerns content supplied by an independent lyric provider or another service, contacting that provider may also be necessary. This contact procedure does not claim that we have appointed a statutory copyright agent.
Trademarks and Open-Source Notices
The Aria Player name, logo and other App materials are subject to the rights of their respective owners. These Terms do not grant permission to present another person's marks as your own or imply an affiliation that does not exist. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners.
The App uses open-source components, including AndroidX Media3 and LibVLC. Component notices and license texts are available in the App's Open-source licenses page. Any source-code, attribution, relinking or other distribution obligations under those licenses remain separate obligations; this agreement does not replace them.
Changes to the App and Termination
We may update the App or change features to address compatibility, security, legal requirements or product development. Where a change requires notice or agreement under applicable law, we will provide that notice or obtain that agreement. This draft does not guarantee a particular release schedule or indefinite support for every feature.
You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. Subject to applicable law and any required notice, rights granted under these Terms may end if you materially breach them. This does not terminate rights independently granted under open-source licenses.
Ending use or uninstalling does not automatically delete original media, backups or information already held by external services. The Privacy Policy explains retention and deletion.
Governing Law and Disputes
The governing law for the completed agreement is your governing law. The proposed courts or other lawful dispute forum are your dispute resolution jurisdiction. Both remain to be confirmed before these Terms become effective.
This draft does not select mandatory arbitration, impose a shortened limitation period or remove protections that apply under the mandatory law of your place of residence. You may contact your email address to discuss a concern without giving up any right to seek another available remedy.
Miscellaneous
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not by itself waive the right to enforce it later. These Terms do not create a partnership, employment or agency relationship between you and us.
We may revise these Terms and will identify the revised version and effective date on this page. Material changes will receive any additional notice or agreement required by law. An update to a web page alone does not constitute consent to new personal data processing.
These Terms are written in English. Any applicable open-source license and mandatory legal rights continue to apply independently.
